Candice Sunseri

Independent Educational Consultant

Candice is an Independent Educational Consultant with a background in research and editing. She is a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), the Western Association of College Admissions Counselors (WACAC) and an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA). Candice completed the IECA Summer Training Institute in July 2020 and received her Independent Educational Consulting Certificate from the University of California, Irvine in 2021. She is also a WOW Writing Workshop certified essay coach. She has a degree in English from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and worked as a book and magazine editor and proofreader in the Chicago area for about ten years before moving to Ventura County, California.

Candice then began a second career as a school librarian, most recently at Moorpark High School, where she garnered acclaim for turning it from a dead zone to the hot spot of the school by creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere to draw students. She also co-sponsored the California Scholarship Federation chapter at MHS. After going through the college admissions process with her three children, Candice became a source of advice for many students and a frequent essay advisor. She also taught research skills lessons to English and social studies classes, so if there’s anyone who can help you find information, it’s Candice.

She loves reading YA books, traveling, walking her dog, cooking (but not cleaning), and giving advice. Her life goals include: taking a cooking class in Tuscany, hiking Mt. Whitney, and winning the King Trivia Tournament of Champions.
