She is an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association and she completed the IECA Summer Institute in July 2020. She
has a degree in English from the University of Illinois/Urbana-Champaign, and worked as a book and magazine editor and proofreader in the Chicago area for about 10 years before moving to Ventura County.

Candice then began a second career as a
school librarian, most recently at Moorpark High School, where she garnered acclaim for turning it from a dead spot on campus to the hot spot of the school by creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere to draw students. She still co-sponsors the California Scholarship
Federation chapter at MHS. She has worked closely with the Moorpark High College and Career Center and, after going through the college admissions process with her three children, she became a source of advice for many students, as well as a reliable essay
editor. She also taught research units to English and social studies classes, so if there’s anyone who can help you find information, it’s Candice.

She loves reading YA books, traveling,
walking her dog, cooking (but not cleaning), and giving advice. Her life goals include: taking a cooking class in Tuscany, hiking Mt. Whitney, and winning the King Trivia Tournament of Champions.
